Spectrum Technical appointed agents for Didion International

Spectrum Technical, based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal, has recently been appointed to market the Didion International range of products in Southern Africa. Spectrum Technical has been serving the South African metallurgical industries since 1994, supplying a range of services and products, focusing on the processing of molten metal, in particular the casting of aluminium and zinc.

Didion offers rotary machinery patented internationally, and the company has grown to include over 1000 machines in 55 countries worldwide. Casthouse Technology Seminar - May 2013


Spectrum Technical, hosted a two day Casthouse Technology Seminar on the 14th and 15th May 2013, at Protea Hotel Imvubu Lodge Richards Bay. The idea was to bring primary and secondary aluminium casting professionals together to share their knowledge and expertise. International speakers delivered papers relevant to the industry, to spark discussion and conversations. Delegates were mainly metallurgists, chemical , mechanical and automation engineers.

The seminar left the delegates with  practical tools and knowledge to assist  them with plant issues they are facing. They also got to make contacts with their counterparts in other companies having similar experiences.

The international speakers consisted of Dave Roth –GPS Solutions (USA); Marc Andre Thibault- STAS (Canada); Frank Reusch and Jochen Schnelle – Drache (Germany); Thomas Jarlsmark – Precimeter (Sweden); and Giovanni Magarotto – Tomorrow Technology (Italy).

Invited delegates from the following companies attended : Hulamin (PMB, RSA); Hillside and Bayside Aluminium (Richards Bay, RSA);  Mozal Aluminium (Maputo, Mozambique); Wispeco (JHB, RSA);  Alumicor (PMB, RSA); and Enviroserv (JHB, RSA). Total of 60 delegates attended seminar held over 2 days.
